I remembered this story after watching "The Crown" on Netflix. On the photo the Queen as we saw her in Bayeux on June 6th 2014 during the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. It is a funny story how Back to Normandy | Fred Vogels could help a QBP on a British destroyer in the Orient (Shanghai). The mail conversation, somewhere 17 years ago:

I work for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) as system administrator based in the .........- China.

We are having a party next monday (QBP) and I am required to play the British National Anthem (Instrumental version).

Looking for the MP3 download but can only find with vocal - hope you can help out.

It was a disaster... found 12,956 different version of the anthem yesterday but... with vocals. Was denied by our consul general.

You should try: sing the lyrics with the music

Quelques jours plus tard

Fred - juste pour que vous sachiez ... tout s'est bien passé, nous ne pouvons toujours pas définir la version «officielle» de l'hymne mais nous avons réussi à jouer votre version orchestrale sans faire «aucun» bruit des 160 hauts fonctionnaires invités. Nous avons fait QBP et fait la fête sur le pont avant à bord du HMS E .... (destroyer de la Royal Navy stationné dans le port S ..... pendant une semaine).

à peu près tout! était génial - toast à vous de tout le personnel impliqué dans la préparation de cet événement!
